My story
Simple designs.
Slow-pressed botanicals.
I've had a flower press since before I can remember, and am forever in awe of the beautiful, tiny details of flowers and leaves that can be preserved through pressing. The natural world continually inspires me, and I have always worked with plants; whether as an estate gardener, or in conservation roles, championing trees and protecting the UK's rare and threatened wildflowers. My garden at home is a constantly evolving project and I love any excuse to bring a new plant into the ever-smaller spaces that remain! Through creating art with plants, my aim is to bring the wonder of the botanical world into our homes.

The practice
All the plants in my designs are grown organically by me, and seaweeds are sustainably foraged from one of my local beaches. Each stem, frond or petal is then pressed in a traditional press and left for a few weeks before it becomes part of a piece.
I keep the layouts calm and minimal so the botanicals can do the talking. Laying out new designs is my favourite part of the process and each piece is carefully considered and often changed multiple times before I settle on the final arrangement.
Each piece is glued carefully in place, before it is mounted. When framing, I choose natural materials that are sympathetic to the feel and tone of the pressing and ground it in place, ready to be displayed.
Materials & values
Sustainability is one of FLORA's fundamental values. I deeply believe that we must tread as lightly as possible on our planet, and I have researched and chosen the materials used to align my products with my values.
The cards and boards I use are sourced from a UK supplier and many are made from recycled materials. Frames are made in and shipped from Sweden, and UV glass is produced in the UK. Packaging is all recycled and/or recyclable.
Please reach out if you have any questions. I hope you find something that catches your eye and makes the perfect card or gift for someone special (including yourself!).
